Law Society accredited

Less than 1% of solicitors are accredited by the Law Society as specialists entitled to carry out publicly funded work using the legal aid scheme. All of our solicitors are franchised to make an immediate application for qualifying claimants, which will include all claims on behalf of minors that is children under the age of 18 years, notwithstanding that the parents may have considerable income and assets. For those who do not qualify for legal aid our medical negligence solicitors are able to offer a no win no fee scheme in appropriate cases however it may be necessary for claimants to contribute to legal expenses including the cost of medical records and reports.

Limitation Act 1980

Claims for compensation for personal injury must be settled or legal proceedings must have been issued in a court of law within three years of discovery of the injury failing which the potential claim may become statute barred under The Limitation Act 1980 and the opportunity to claim compensation may have been lost forever. This general rule does not apply to those under the age of 18 years for whom time only starts running on the eighteenth birthday. Time may never start running for those suffering from mental disability. There are certain other exceptions to the general rule and the court does have a rarely exercised but wide discretion relating to limitation matters. Limitation law is complex and if necessary advice should be taken from an experienced qualified lawyer as soon as possible.
